Gustav Bahn - Principal

Gustav is a founding Principal at Kinley Capital Group and is responsible for all legal matters at the company. Gustav has over 25 years of legal experience advising on complex transactions, mergers and acquisitions, REITs, and securities law. 

Gustav most recently served as General Counsel of Ashland Greene Capital Partners where he oversaw all legal matters for the Dallas-based real estate company. Prior to joining Ashland Greene, Gustav spent five years in the legal department of Steadfast Companies, where his roles included Chief Legal Officer of Steadfast Apartment REIT, Inc., a public, non-traded REIT with $3.5 billion in assets and 70 multifamily properties, and General Counsel of Stira Investment Advisor, LLC, a registered investment advisor. 

Prior to his role at Steadfast Companies, Gustav was a partner at the law firm of Alston & Bird LLP, Dallas, where his practice focused on REITs, securities law, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions. 

Gustav began his legal career at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in both the New York and London offices from 2000 to 2006. 

Gustav holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science (Honors) (summa cum laude) from the University of Tennessee, an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a J.D. from Tulane Law School. Gustav is admitted to the Texas State Bar and the New York State Bar.
